Wendy L. Kahn was until December 31, 2016, a senior principal in the firm of Zwerdling, Paul, Kahn & Wolly, P.C.  Effective January 1, 2017, she became “Of Counsel” to the firm. She received her B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from New York University School of Law.  Prior to entering private practice in 1980, representing private sector and public sector unions and employees in labor and employment matters, she served in the Office of the General Counsel to the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO ("AFSCME").  Ms. Kahn was inducted into The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, Inc. in August 2003 and is included in Washington D.C.’s, The Best Lawyers (2007-2016).  Her Bar memberships have included the Bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland and the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as numerous Federal courts.

For approximately 20 years, Ms. Kahn taught as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center in the Graduate Labor Law Program teaching Labor Relations in State and Local Government.  She is member of the labor law divisions of the District of Columbia Bar, where she chaired the labor law division in 1979-1980; and of the American Bar Association, where she has been an active member of the Committee on State and Local Government Bargaining & Employment Law, serving as its Union Co-Chair from August 2003 - August 2006.  She is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association.

Her service in the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law also includes Union Co-Chair of the Federal Court Law Clerk Training Program Subcommittee of the Section’s CLE/Institutes and Meetings Committee (2002-2006), Union Co-Chair of the Section’s Committee on Outreach to Government Lawyers (2006-2008), and Union-Employee Section Council Member (2007-2015).   In 2010-2011, she served on the ABA Task Force on Federal Pleading Standards (post-Iqbal and Twombly). She is liaison to the Labor and Employment Law Section’s Immigration and Human Trafficking Committee. In 2014-2015, she was the Section’s Liaison to the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession, and beginning in 2015 is a Section Liaison to the ABA Center for Human Rights.

Ms. Kahn served on the Board of the Women's Legal Defense Fund (now the National Partnership for Women & Families) from 1981-1985; and is a member of the National Committee on Pay Equity, having served on its board from its inception in 1979 until 1983.  She received WLDF’s Volunteer of the Year Award from the Women’s Legal Defense Fund in 1988.

Ms. Kahn was appointed a member of the Montgomery County Commission for Women from 1984-1987 and served as co-chair of the Montgomery County Pay Equity Coalition from 1986-1989.  She served on the Advisory Board for the D.C. Employment Justice Center and, from 2007-2011, on the Advisory Board of the Center for WorkLife Law.  In October 2006, Ms. Kahn received from the Women’s Law Center of Maryland, the 21st Dorothy Beatty Memorial Award for accomplishments in employment justice and pay equity in Montgomery County.

A member of Temple Sinai, Ms. Kahn served on its Board of Trustees and the Planning Committees of the Zwerdling Shabbaton on Social Justice.  In addition to numerous panel presentations, Ms. Kahn’s publications include: “EEO Statutory Overview,” prepared for the Judicial Law Clerk Training Program sponsored by the Federal Judicial Center and ABA’s Labor and Employment Law Section (co-authored annually 2001-2006); Public Employee Organizing and the Law, (BNA 1987)(with Michael T.
